What do I see?
I see red, green, yellow and blue bulbs,
I see an unlit candle in a fancy red holder.
A couple of coffee cups on my table,
Stains of the past lie there too.
A brick wall on my right,
An empty chair on my left,
I'm left staring at the song that I write.
The DJ plays on, people keep talking,
My coffee is halfway down, soon I'll be walking.
The sound of the coffee maker overshadows the beat
The people dont get disturbed,
They are here to stay in the heat.
Gothic candles all over this place,
Make the room seem nice as they sway.
Green wooden panels on the wall infront of me,
They hide but old and batterred things.
A painting with many faces,
The ones I see I say.
A horse, a man, a monkey and a mask
Which is which its hard to say.
The painting draws a glass,
Through opacity its beauty shines,
I see through the vagueness.
More faces come to me,
as I see the painting.
The truth is all around us,
For masks are everywhere.
I see the difference when
I walk up close
There are more than those I can see from afar.
(I cant believe thats what went through my head while having two cups of coffee at a coffee shop near my place..)
